Life is Messy

Life is messy – isn’t it. I personally like things fairly tidy, all clean and orderly, as the wardens can tell by our relentless purging and organizing the decades of  “treasures” found in cupboards, closets and drawers in our church buildings. Maybe you like ‘tidy’ too!?

I like things to be tidy in relationships too – if at all possible. It is an enormous value for me to live and work toward love & harmony. If a relationship is in a mess – I don’t sleep as well. I don’t feel well or move as freely when things are left untended and if resentment or disconnection clutters my head and heart. I like reconciliation – well actually, I LOVE reconciliation. Reconciling between God and humans, between one another… When things are made right. When there is a willingness in myself and the other to settle conflicts, let go of hurt or hard feelings and repair any damages that have been done.

I actually like all things to be tidy – even in theology – I don’t want sloppy thoughtless theology; I don’t tolerate harmful belief systems very well. But at times it gets messy.
